Collagen is one of the nutrients that needs to be replenished in the body at all times. We can get it from food or supplements.
What is collagen?
It is one of the most important proteins in the body. It is abundant in the skin and the entire movement apparatus (bones, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, muscles), as well as in the teeth and gums, cornea, blood vessels, internal organs and tissues.
In some tissues, collagen can be like a gel (in the vitreous of the eye), in others it is twisted into fibers (in tendons). Depending on the effect on a specific organ, several types of collagen are distinguished.
Type I collagen is found in the dermis, tendons, ligaments, bones, internal organs, and gums.
Type II collagen is found in cartilaginous joint tissue, the vitreous body of the eye, and intervertebral discs
Type III collagen is characteristic of the eye's retina, capillaries, and blood vessels.
Collagen synthesis in the skin
Type I collagen in the skin is produced by cells - fibroblasts. These are connective tissue cells in the dermis, responsible not only for the production of the collagen matrix, but also for the synthesis of elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin. Fibroblasts are sensitive to physical and chemical stimuli that can stimulate fibroblast activity and proliferation. The activation of fibroblasts leads to an increase in the production of own collagen.
Collagen in your musculoskeletal system
Type II collagen is one of the most important supporting proteins of cartilage tissue. It makes up about 50% of the dry weight of cartilage and determines the mechanical properties of articular cartilage, especially strength and elasticity. Collagen tripeptides are a source of building material necessary for the regeneration of articular cartilage, subcartilaginous bone tissue, other joint tissues, joint capsule, tendons and ligaments. They influence the metabolism of articular cartilage and bone cells, strengthen collagen synthesis, prevent further loss of cartilage, improve joint mobility and reduce pain, and increase the density of bone tissue.
One box - effect for three months
So it is clear that collagen is a very important protein in our body. Therefore, in order to keep the body, skin and connective tissues youthful, we need to replenish our collagen reserves daily.
This is inconvenient because we often forget to take our food supplements, so Dr. Ohhira's scientists have developed a collagen that does not need to be taken daily. Its special formula and composition not only allows for maximum absorption, but also stimulates the production of our own collagen. So after taking one package, you only need to repeat the course after 3 months.
Dr.OHHIRA® collagen contains 7.75 g of low molecular weight* type I, II and III collagen and collagen tripeptides, extracted by enzymatic hydrolysis from free-swimming red snapper scales, skin and bones.
In addition, Dr.OHHIRA® collagen is enriched with additional components that are important for the production of your own collagen and for increasing collagen absorption.
Hyaluronic acid
It is a natural substance that the body produces itself and uses to lubricate joints and keep skin and organs moist. In the human body, it binds with water molecules and becomes a viscous, gel-like substance. Hyaluronic acid is most common in nervous, covering and connective tissues, but smaller amounts are found in almost all cells of the body. Hyaluronic acid naturally decreases in the body over time.
The formula of Dr.OHHIRA® marine collagen contains as much as 93% purity of low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, extracted by special – a gentle natural bio-fermentation method.

Elastin
It is a connective tissue protein that is included in the composition of tissues with elastic properties. Large amounts of elastin are found in the lungs, large arteries, and elastic ligaments. Smaller amounts of it are found in the skin, ear cartilage and other organs. Elastin is naturally produced in the human body until around the age of 25 and completely disappears by the age of 40-50.
Dr.OHHIRA® marine collagen formula contains 5 mg of low molecular weight elastin extracted from the skin, scales, and bones of free-swimming Pacific Cod.
Coenxyme Q10 (CoQ10)
It is a fat-soluble vitamin-like substance found in all cells of the body. It performs several functions in the body: it stabilizes cell membranes and participates in antioxidant processes. The highest amounts of CoQ10 are found in the organs that use the most energy: the brain, heart, liver and kidneys.
Dr.OHHIRA® marine collagen formula contains 12.5 mg of coenzyme Q10.

Vitamin C
Dr.OHHIRA® collagen also contains vitamin C. It helps support the normal formation of collagen, which is necessary for the normal function of the skin, blood vessels, bones, cartilage, gums and teeth. This vitamin also helps to maintain normal energy metabolism, normal functioning of the immune system, helps protect cells from oxidative damage (acts as an antioxidant), improves iron absorption and reduces tiredness and fatigue.
Dr.OHHIRA® marine collagen formula contains as much as 250 mg (312.5% RMV) of vitamin C, the source of which is corn (non-GMO) and tapioca (manioc starch).
