What is OM-X® extract?

OM-X® is fermented extract from plant based ingredients like vegetables, fruit, seaweed and mushrooms using the power from 12 kinds of lactic acid bacteria.

Developed by world renowned microbiologist, Dr. Iichiroh Ohhira in Japan, research papers on OM-X® extract and lactic acid bacteria, were introduced to the world close to 30 years ago.

OM-X® extract takes 3 to 5 years where fermentation and maturation repeat by the action of lactic acid bacteria with the variation of temperatures over the four seasons. As a result, the completed OM-X® becomes a reservoir of various nutrients including amino acids, peptides, vitamins, minerals, organic acids, dietary fibers, oligosaccharides, polyphenol and flavonoid.

Containing such a wide variety of nutrients, OM-X® offers remarkable potential to benefit our health. Another beneficial property of OM-X® extract is being hypoallergenic because all of the ingredients are plant-based. It is also free of GMO (genetically modified organisms), dairy products or gluten.

Heating Process

There is absolutely no heating process during the manufacturing of Dr. OHHIRA® products. In recent years, there are many other fermented food and enzyme drinks that were produced through heat processing. Unfortunately, valuable nutrients are damaged and the friendly bacteria are killed by the application of heat.

Dr. OHHIRA® manufactured by the traditional natural Japanese fermentation technique which does not apply heat during the fermentation process and maturation periods.
